About the artwork
A pair of cat eyes stare at you in this animal portrait. Mysterious eyes, unusual in colour, that are almost hypnotic and will keep you looking at them for a long time. It's a real stare-down between you and the cat in this image!
Cats are special animals. Sometimes affectionate, but often they are loners and decide for themselves what to do. What is itself incredibly beautiful are a cat's eyes. Cats have large eyes in proportion to their bodies. The pupils of a cat's eyes are elongated and widen as it gets darker. In this way, a cat can see well in the dark. A cat's eye can adjust to the difference between day and night much better than a human eye can. So all in all, a cat eye can definitely be called a special body part!
And these special eyes deserve a beautiful work of art. An artwork based on two photos. A photo of a cat and a photo of a utensil from my kitchen. This utensil has a coarse texture that reflects the different coloured light beautifully on its surface. This created beautiful patterns and shapes. This abstract picture can be seen in its entirety in the cat's eyes and also in the background.
By merging the portrait of the cat with this abstract photo, a mysterious and fascinating work of art has been created in which reality and abstraction merge beautifully.
