The amphitheatre of Hierapolis is an impressive, well-preserved Roman amphitheatre in the ancient city of Hierapolis, now known as Pamukkale in Turkey. It is an oval structure with rows of seats surrounding an arena, typical of Roman amphitheatres used for gladiator fights, hunting parties and battles with wild animals. The presence of this theatre highlights the cultural and historical significance of Hierapolis.
