Magical ancient temples and stone ruins in Segesta on the southern European Italian island of Sicily behind a glorious yellow flower meadow shine in the spring sunshine. On my spring 2019 Easter trip, I headed to the magical ruins area, the temples of Segesta, with a rental car and my Nikon D90 in tow. This fantastic destination has been attracting numerous international visitors for many years. I walked across lush, magnificent meadows of flowers and plants, hilly mountains and valleys to the wonderful and fairytale-like temple complex. The temples rise on a high mountain above the far-reaching plateau. From this vantage point, the human eye can see ancient, abandoned medieval villages stretching across the entire mountain landscape. Warm temperatures and inviting sunlight left me walking for miles in wonder. The fragrant flowers and wild herbs gave me enough vitality and stamina for an extended photo walk. The crisp blue tones of the sky together with the sea of blossoms create a dreamlike ambience. This photographic image was taken in the early afternoon hours on 23 April 2019. The beautiful island of Sicily offers every visitor a breathtaking landscape with unique views and leaves a powerful visual impression. The spring-like image motif is suitable for all living spaces and provides very special, creative inspiration.
