A 16:9 photo in Black and White of Angkor Wat, a majestic temple complex near the city of Siem Reap in Cambodia, and the largest religious monument in the world. The temple was built in the 12th century by order of King Suryavarman II as a Hindu temple dedicated to Vishnu, but later became an important Buddhist shrine.
The complex is known for its five iconic towers in the shape of lotus buds, symbolising the five peaks of holy Mount Meru.
Surrounding the temple are vast galleries with reliefs depicting mythical stories and historical events. Angkor Wat is surrounded by a wide moat and a long access road leading to the central temple.
Angkor Wat is one of the most photographed sites in Asia.
