Rotterdam's Kop van Zuid is an area known for its modern architecture and impressive skyline. The former port area has been transformed in recent decades into a vibrant city district full of iconic buildings and cultural facilities. One of the most striking structures is the Erasmus Bridge, an 802-metre-long bridge that connects the north and south sides of the city. The bridge's slender, asymmetrical pylon, also known as the "Swan", is a symbol of Rotterdam and is known for its elegant and futuristic shape.

Another architectural highlight is De Rotterdam, a multifunctional complex designed by architect Rem Koolhaas. This colossal building consists of three towers that together form a "vertical city", with offices, housing, a hotel and recreational facilities.
