A tunnel is always a challenge for a photographer, because how do you keep it from becoming more than a registration. I think you can achieve that by playing with point of view, colour or perspective.
In this photo, I think it worked well to appeal to all three elements. The frog fork perspective here enhances the spatiality. Because thereby the people stand like small creatures in the background, this is further emphasised.
I felt the colour was a bit dull and changing it to sepia added a zeitgeist from the past. This also enhances the semi-circles created by the lamps on the ceiling. As a final point, I moved the vanishing point away from the centre, which I think brings more tension to a photo. All in all, a photo, which connects lines as well as people and architecture.
