Venice's lagoon is home to many islands, Burano being perhaps the most colorful of them all.
The island is inhabited by a community of fishermen, who go out in the early hours of the day. Because of its location in the lagoon, the island is regularly blanketed in fog at sunrise. To be able to find their home again, everyone has painted their house a different colour.
In this image, you can see one of these colorful houses, which really stands out with its light blue colour!!! The white window frames give a nice contrast, and the green shutters complete the picture. Another nice detail, is blue and white striped curtain, which you see hanging in front of the door at many houses on the island.
This is a typical image of Burano, as you can expect on a quiet early morning on this island.
