Spring will come
Leaves are already appearing on the trees
The air is still cold
But the sun feeds the light like warm gold
My illustrative art originates from ideas that arise in my daily life. This picture was taken with a pinhole camera that merges three different shots. I constructed the camera myself. The exposure is 15 seconds, in which I took the backlight shot of the tree first.Then later in this May month I shot the other two images: in the morning and at sunset. It is a snapshot of several days and a record my constant progression of my development and life as an artist: a visual diary with the aim of making the images I see in my head real. I then coloured the black-and-white negative with colour ink and printed this negative (13x18 cm) in colour. The deep blue is coloured in as yellow because the positive shows the contrast colour.
Photographic artist Bob Karhof has been experimenting with the photographic medium since 1993. To make the most of this form, he constructs his own camera, making it possible to merge images from different locations and times into a new image.
