Celery in Seed - celary is in the carrot family and used as spice in cooking. It is also delicious raw in salads. I prefer this verskon of celary to the root kind. As a child I did not enjoy the texture of the later But the green crispy fresh celary stalk is more to my liking. I love how the seed pods created this elegant curve in this macro picutre. We keep our herbs covered and protected in a winter box and this allows the plant to seed earlier.
Spring is an exiting time in our garden. When my pup and I venture out there is always something new to discover. My new puppy is a more mouth on dog and will taste the plants. I am offering her raw vegetables to see if she likes them. Today I noticed our celery bolting and in seed. I don't mind the bolting. So often we do not see the stages of the plants we consume as nourishment. How elegant nature can be is clear in this delicate macro photograph.
This one is for the foodie, gardeners and flower lovers alike. I am so glad to see you here enjoying my gallery.
