This architectural, urban photograph was taken on 2 October 2016 in the early evening hours. The image motif shows the bridge of Frankfurt (Oder), which leads to the Polish border near Slubice. The abstract, dark conversion into classic black and white gives the motif an elegant, dramatic and timeless pictorial effect. The strongly graphic image arrangement of the bridge and its reflection in the River Oder give the photo a harmonious and clear form that has a calming effect.
The Stadtbrücke Frankfurt (Oder) is a bridge structure on the B5 trunk road that spans the Oder River in Frankfurt (Oder). The border bridge is located in the course of the inner-city border crossing between Frankfurt and Słubice.
It spans an Oder promenade, the Oder waterway, a harbour entrance and a flooding area. The national border between the two countries runs through the middle of the navigation channel of the Oder, so that about 70 % of the bridge is on Polish territory.
