About "Dancing fence in rust brown shade"

About the artwork

In this work you can see right through the sculpture an old Dutch fence. What is that? Fences used to be made from scraps of wood. These could be thin sticks and crooked, oddly shaped branches. What attracted me was precisely this messy arrangement. No clean lines between neatly straight poles, but jumbled interesting shapes. I was immediately reminded of Vincent van Gogh, who painted things like this.
The taut wires and pieces of wood hang against each other, as it were, as if they were holding each other up. To make precisely the fence central to the image, I took a black-and-white photograph. Later I started editing the image to bring the fence even more sharply to the fore. Here I chose the rust brown tone, which I think really suits this image.
The curly "spots" in the background, into which the fence disappears, is a forest. The creator of the fence must have found the material there.
It is a romantic image that would fit nicely among a collection of similar or contrasting images.
