Along a quiet country road in Northern Ireland, century-old beech trees form a mysterious tunnel: The Dark Hedges. With their winding branches touching above the road, they create an enchanting vista full of shadow, light and mysticism.
Originally planted in the 18th century to impress visitors to a nearby manor house, this avenue grew into one of the most photographed spots in the country. The atmosphere is almost supernatural - especially at sunrise or in the haze of an early morning.
