This is an illustration of what I like to do; swimming and snorkelling in clear, blue water! And of course I prefer to do that near a subtropical island!
Unfortunately that's not possible in times of corona, but when I look at this work, I remember how I, while working behind my computer, thought back to a holiday on Tenerife, where a rainbow of fish regularly passed me by!
The work is mixed media; it is both a drawing and a paste, because the bubbles are pieces of paper. If you look closely, you can see that there is a shadow around the bubbles, which makes the work a bit 3-D.
I used markers and it was made on found, colored paper from a magazine.
My work distinguishes itself by strong colours and clear shapes. I work with ecoline, ink and pencil, but I also like to cut and paste.
I get my inspiration from nature and like to daydream. Animals and people sometimes seem to melt together in these reveries.
