About the artwork
This abstract artwork is done in various shades of pink with green. The colours are soft and have an old vintage feel. All these retro shades contrast nicely with the dark black background.
Apart from being abstract, this artwork is also dynamic, showing a wavy shape. A wavy shape as if you were standing at the beach watching the surf as the waves curl and then merge again with the sea water. At the end of this waveform, a drop seems to hang.
But what do you really see? For instance, is it a comet hurtling across the universe, leaving behind a tail of burnt particles? Or is it part of a plant from which a drop of dew hangs in the early morning? Whatever you see in it, anything will do. Let your imagination run wild and enjoy this contrasting and unusual artwork.
The basis of this artwork is an ordinary photograph of an object made of glass. I digitally distorted, twisted and merged several versions of this photo.
This artwork represents letting go or holding on. The waveform wants to hold on to the drop but will have to let go at some point. Similarly with the comet, it wants to hold on to all its volume but slowly more and more will burn up and let go. And even the drop of dew will not stick to the plant forever.
In short, a beautiful abstract artwork full of symbolism and a message for life.
