About ‘Erasmus bridge at night’ by Rene van Heerdt

I was standing on the Erasmus Bridge, in a place you normally only drive past. In the middle of the lane, tripod unfolded, looking past the traffic instead of being part of it. Just before, a tram had passed by. Close enough to be sharp again, no more than that. After that, things quieted down.

On the left, a white line moved through the image. Headlights, direction ahead. On the right, red slipped away, taillights leaving the bridge. Cars came and went, without pause, without story. Only after thirty seconds did it become visible what they were doing together. Time stretched. Movement became form. What is normal noise became a pattern. I didn't have to force anything. Just keep standing, watching, waiting for the city to finish itself. The bridge did the rest. Steel, cables, lines. Everything in balance, everything in use. Traffic drew its own routes, left and right, as if it was always meant to be.

The picture is not a moment and not an action. It is a brief summary of flowing through. Of direction without haste. Of a city that does not stand still, but becomes equally uncluttered.

What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
