About the artwork

Time seems to have stood still in this deserted room. An old, dusty tube television stands on a worn table covered with a faded red and white chequered tablecloth. Next to it is a bouquet of artificial flowers whose colours have retained their vibrancy despite the years. The light falls diagonally through the broken window framed by cobwebs and paints long shadows on the crumbling wall. The atmosphere is calm, almost poignant, as if the memories of days gone by are trapped in the walls. You can feel the hint of nostalgia that surrounds this room - life once pulsated here, laughter and conversation filled the air.

The view through the window shows the wilderness that surrounds the building and slowly makes its way into the room. The weathered frames and brittle panes tell of the years of decay and recapture by nature. It is as if this room is telling one last silent story before nature takes over completely. This place is a contemporary witness to transience, where memory meets the raw power of nature.
