On the Normandy coast lies the town of Etretat. The area around Etretat is known for its chalk cliffs. A famous point on the beach of Etretat is Falaise d'Aval, a 70 meter high rock arch that protrudes into the sea. This rock arch can be viewed from the beach of Etretat but you can also take a walk to the top of the rock or to the area west of it. In any case, Etretat is a very nice place to visit the Alabaster Coast, as the coastal strip is called here, and to enjoy the chalk cliffs and rock arches that are abundant here.
