In San Diego, along the coastal lagoons, you can admire flamingos in all their elegance. Their bright pink feathers shimmer in the sunlight and form a fascinating contrast to the blue water and the lush green of their surroundings. Their long, slender legs appear almost fragile, but they carry the birds through the shallow water with graceful ease. The curved neck and characteristic beak, which is perfectly adapted to filter feeding, give them an unmistakable appearance.

In groups, they often move in synchronisation, as if they were performing a natural dance. When a flock rises, an impressive picture of outstretched wings in vibrant shades of black and pink unfolds. Their flight is as graceful as their gait: with outstretched neck and legs, they seem to glide effortlessly through the air as if gravity were a minor matter.
