About the artwork
The Glenfinnan Viaduct is one of Scotland's most famous railway bridges and stretches in an elegant curve over the picturesque Glenfinnan valley.
The view of it is particularly magical when the Jacobite Train slowly moves over the Glenfinnan Viaduct - a moment that gives many travellers goose bumps. Just like me.
The structure, which was built from concrete in the early 20th century, is considered an engineering masterpiece and is now a Scottish landmark. The nostalgic steam train travels from Fort William to Mallaig.
The viaduct became world-famous thanks to the Harry Potter films, in which it served as the backdrop for the Hogwarts Express. In several scenes, you can see the train travelling over the viaduct while Harry, Ron and Hermione are on their way to Hogwarts.
