I took this photo in San Francisco, California. For work, I was allowed to go this way and in advance I had marked a number of locations to photograph including this one near the Golden Gate Bridge.
For this photo, I had specially brought my 100-400mm telephoto lens as the distance to the bridge was quite long. By fully zooming in at 400mm, the image pulls together making the size of the Golden Gate Bridge stand out against the background of the hills. Besides, I also think this is a nice cutout you don't see very often.
By using so-called grey filters, I was able to stretch the shutter speed, creating nice light trails of passing traffic. This was still a challenge because there was quite a lot of wind.
But just pressing the button doesn't finish the photo. That only happens at home during post-processing. Because at home, I process 99% of my photos because I have a large screen, a fast desktop and a Wacom drawing tablet at my disposal to quietly edit my photos with various software so they are suitable to hang on your wall.
