Venice's lagoon is home to many islands, Burano being perhaps the most colourful of them all.
The island is inhabited by a fishing community, who go out in the early hours of the day. Because of its location in the lagoon, the island is regularly blanketed in fog at sunrise. To be able to find their home again, everyone has painted their house a different colour.
In this image, you can see one of these colourful houses, which really stands out with its bright green colour!!! The white window frames give a nice contrast, and the green shutters complete the picture. A nice detail is the laundry hanging to dry on the clothesline in front of the house.
This is a typical image of Burano, as you can expect on an early morning on this island
