This is one of over 1,900 islands, which are part of Halong Bay. An island group in northern Vietnam, very popular with tourists to take a boat trip there. I also took this photo during a multi-day cruise, in the slightly quieter Lan Hai bay.
The islands are made up of limestone, which water and wind have given magnificent shapes. This islet is about 30 metres high and is surrounded by azure blue water. During low tide, a small beach emerges, completing the tropical feel.
