An adult doe from a group of fallow deer walked slowly towards me while grazing until she realised, despite me hiding as much as possible behind the crest of a knoll, that something was going on. She stayed for some time watching, listening and smelling. Despite minimal movement to take a series of photos, the fallow deer noticed me, stayed for a while to see what she was dealing with, and then trotted away with her calf along with another doe with calf. Some distance away, they stood still, turned, looked at me and then walked away very quietly.
