In the astronaut suit, we see Vermeer's Girl with the Pearl Earring. It is one of my favourite paintings, and over the years I made several of my own interpretations of it. In this work, she is once again given a different role: not as a classical portrait, but as a traveller through space and imagination. The recognisable pose, soft gaze and iconic canvas come together here with a futuristic world that actually feels very human.
The message I want to convey here goes beyond just "everything is okay". It is a reminder not to doubt yourself, to realise that everyone is equally important. Sometimes you need a moment to be reminded that you can trust in your own strength. For me, this work is about exactly that: self-confidence, gentleness and the courage to keep believing in yourself. The astronaut passes on that feeling to Mission Control in Houston, simply with a thumbs-up.
Technically, it is a mix of digital collage, 3D elements, algorithmically generated patterns and my own dye-like edits. That combination creates a soft, layered look where classic art and modern techniques reinforce each other. The rose as a sticker on the backpack is my subtle signature, visible to those who look more closely.
This work whispers one simple, reassuring sentence:
Houston, everything is okay.
