This place felt almost unreal when I got there. You can hear the waterfall from afar, but it is only when you step through the dense greenery and see this huge curtain of water that you really know: wow, this is Bali at its best.
The woman you see in the distance stood there posed well to put the waterfall in perspective. That very fact made the picture complete. So small against the power of nature, as if she was totally absorbed in it.
I love photos that tell something without needing words. This moment felt like a kind of fusion between man and nature. As if everything around her fell silent, except for that thundering water that kept crashing down constantly.
What I personally love about this place is how 'pure' it feels. No crowds in the morning, just the smell of wet moss, the sound of water, and that fresh jungle air. It felt like I was momentarily outside of time, something I have experienced many times in Bali.
And that is exactly why I wanted to share this photo. Not just because it is visually powerful, but because for me it symbolises the peace and adventure that Bali can be at the same time. A tropical island full of surprises, where at the most unexpected moments you suddenly feel very small, but also very alive.
