Jenny Angel is the title of this work. It's a fantasy name, just came to mind. Angel refers to the wings in the work, wings and birds have really appealed to me all my life, no idea really why that is.

My works arise intuitively, I start by looking for images and then, while shuffling, removing or recalling them, create a whole. Sometimes this process takes quite a long time, sometimes it is fairly quick.
Some pictures are copied and resized after they have been touched up, creating a rhythm, as happened with the brass horn shapes of the body, among others. This horn was part of a plate from an old gramophone player. Somehow, I thought it went well with the blue-purple parts.
The setup is symmetrical in most of my works, and this is done by copying parts of pictures and then pasting them back mirrored.
Jenny Angel fits well in an interior with not too much colour, allowing the work to stand out. My advice is to place the work on a blank wall.
As a child, I could spend hours drawing at the kitchen table at home. Later in life, I enjoyed years of artistic training and although I learnt a lot, at some point I detached myself from wanting to conform to artistic dogma because it hindered me. I.. Read more…
