About the artwork

Kinderdijk is a village in South Holland, located in the Alblasserwaard. The village is part of the municipality of Molenwaard. Kinderdijk is located where the North and Lek rivers meet. The place is mainly known for the Kinderdijk windmills. The main activity consists of shipbuilding. Kinderdijk was protected from the water by two administrations, the Overwaard (on the east side of the Middelkade) and the Nederwaard (on the west side of the Middelkade). The Nederwaard built eight mills, stone ground-sailers, in 1738. The second mill is open to the public. The Overwaard also built eight mills in 1740, these were octagonal ground sailors. Kinderdijk was the first Dutch place with an electricity supply, in 1886. Electricity was generated in Kinderdijk by the Netherlands' first power station, designed and built by Willem Benjamin Smit, also one of the founders of Electrisch-Licht-Machinen Fabriek Willem Smit & Co.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers. Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
