Perhaps the most famous beetle in the Netherlands is the ladybird. Everyone has looked at them as a child, but photographing them beautifully is another challenge. Two beautiful red and black wingcases protect the fragile wings. The red beautifully compliments the green of the leaves and up close, the friendly capuchin sometimes looks like a giant monster. An ultra-macro lens allows you to focus right up against the glass of your lens. An extra flash under the leaf beautifully highlights the veins.
