A cheerful Dutch Squirrel looks right into the living or children's room. This friendly Red Squirrel is being supplanted in certain areas of Europe by the cheeky Grey Squirrel. The Dutch Veluwe region still has a nice population of Red Squirrels. These animals are naturally shy forest animals, but with some patience you can study them beautifully. This photo was taken with a 600mm lens from about 6 metres away.
