Leiden is full of history. One of the monumental structures is the Morspoort gate with the Morspoort bridge. The first bridge on site dated from 1611. The current Morspoortbrug is its youngest successor, built in 1986. Together with the Morspoort, it forms a national monument. Although the bridge itself is not even visible in this photo, just the distorted reflection gives an unmistakable picture of this distinctive landscape element in Leiden.
