This artwork is a good example of the elements and techniques that inspire and challenge me to create an artistic work of art.
Firstly, light and dark. The light in this picture is important but certainly so is the dark background. The light is formed by lighting a metal object from which spiky pins are attached. While taking the photo, I moved the camera (ICM technique, Intentional Camera Movement). This creates beautiful shapes and unusual patterns of light.
Secondly, I used the multiple exposure technique: mixing two or more photos together. Using this technique, I mixed the light photo with a photo of a mottled and blurred pattern. This gave the black background a bit more texture and it is no longer uniform in colour.
Finally, I added extra colour in post-processing. The colours I used here are warm colours that look like flames. You can feel the warmth bouncing off the image. They are also vintage colours, colours with an old look that add a lot of atmosphere to the artwork.
The end result has become an atmospheric and artistic abstract artwork.
Combined with the light artwork 'Light art fantasy in warm flaming colours 1', it creates a special wall decoration!
I see making art as a creative process.
The starting point of this process for me is always a photo or a painting of my own. Every work of art on this site is therefore based on a self-made photo or painting.
I find my sources of inspiration in everything around me...
