The renovated Rotterdam Central Station. Some people don't like it, others think it's absolutely wonderful.
I belong to the second group. For this photographer, changing trains at Rotterdam-Centraal is just a party. Always that great light, those lines, that repetition, that feeling of space. I simply cannot get over it.
In June 2022, I was there briefly for a short transfer. While waiting for the train, this sprinter or stopping train stopped in my view. What a beautiful symmetry: the yellow doors on the left and right and the same windows on the left and right. And even in the roof you can see the symmetry reflected: the lines all go towards the same point.
And you know what's fun now? The symmetry is also just broken by the symbols for people with limited mobility and the pantograph of the train!
