A lioness lies on a knoll on the savannah in the last evening light. She is slightly behind so that we only see her head and shoulders; she is looking to the left and lying on the right in the photo. It is already somewhat towards the blue hour and the background of the photo in the distance is misty and blue. The light is still shining on her head and she has her eyes squeezed shut enjoyably. Her head is up though. The foreground consists of some dead grass and earth, in the background we can see a hill on the horizon. Overall, the photo is a bit dark which really makes the lioness stand out.
