Little elephant on the grass

by Christian Ovís

‘Little Elephant on the Grass’ depicts a seated baby elephant in a soft pastel-green landscape. The animal has large, light-blue ears, pink cheeks and small feet pointing forwards. Its trunk curves to the left and its head is turned slightly to one side. Simple leaves and a few small flowers grow around it. Behind the baby elephant is a large pale circle set amongst clouds in cream, pink and grey-blue.

The illustration uses soft transitions and rounded shapes. The cool blue of the elephant blends with the grass and plants, whilst the pink accents make the face and feet stand out. The light-coloured circle provides a calm backdrop for the ears and head. Darker shadows beneath the animal give it a distinct place on the ground. The open space at the top keeps the landscape airy and uncluttered.

This elephant illustration is suitable for a nursery, children’s bedroom or a quiet play corner. Mint green, light blue and soft pink details can echo the colour palette in the room. Natural wood and light-coloured fabrics complement the gentle aesthetic. The image features a recognisable animal motif without any stark colour contrasts. The small flowers and leaves add details to discover together.
