About ‘Living on the edge in Oman’ by Margot van den Berg

The Hajar Mountains, or Oman Mountains, run like a backbone through Oman, parallel to the country’s north-eastern coast. The mountains are rugged and inhospitable. A mountain range that seems to go on forever, with an endless succession of rugged peaks and equally rugged valleys. With caves, jagged edges, unexpected bends and a harsh climate.

When you stand there, it is hard to imagine that people live here. But they do. In villages on ledges and ridges; the larger ones lie on flat stretches along a valley. And because people live there, goats live there too. In the barren landscape, they forage for food amongst the stones.

They must be doing well, because every goat we saw looked healthy. With a beautiful coat of long hair, sometimes with horns, standing in a valley or on an impossible slope. Just like this pair on the edge of the mountain, calmly carrying on with their meal, paying us no mind. A striking contrast. The healthy animals that belonged in this environment, right where we were standing, and the inhospitable backdrop of mountains and valleys, full of gorges and obstacles.

What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
