Recently, I have spent quite a lot of time at international airports. Some of these have large LCD screens where well-known companies advertise their products. I was fascinated by how many people just pass by these without paying attention.
This photo is one of a series in which I have people go in front of these screens as silhouettes, i.e. anonymously, where then the background is as important as the person in front of it. An image is then created of an anonymous completely artificial world that the airports have become.
Surely our own digital world is more important than the anonymous digital environment. This picture was taken through a reflective glass screen. Despite the attention-crying presence of the red figure on the screen, this traveller's attention still goes to his own screen.
