About ‘Love is the Cure’ by Yvonne Kok

Original 100 x 100 cm on linen canvas

This queen looks cautiously around the world; she is stunningly beautiful, yet deeply insecure.

This work arose from my fascination with vulnerability and self-love. I often paint women as a symbol of inner strength. The inspiration did not come from one person, but from a universal feeling: the moment when you dare to show yourself, despite insecurities, scars or imperfections.
The atmosphere is raw and vulnerable at the same time.

For me, this painting is about the healing power of love. Love for yourself, for others and for life. It is precisely when we embrace our vulnerability that space is created for connection and growth. The message is simple: love is not a weakness, but a source of strength.

The work is built up from many layers of acrylic paint, ink, chalk, pencil and spray paint. By repeatedly adding, removing and partially painting over, depth and history are created in the canvas. The visible sketch lines, drips and hidden words make every detail part of the story.

My name is Yvonne Kok, an artist from Haarlem. I paint in a pop-street art style. Freedom, vulnerability and inner strength are central themes. This stems primarily from my personal journey. I mainly paint women and birds — symbols of daring to show your true self and being as free as a bird. My work is created intuitively, layer by layer, using materials such as acrylic paint, spray paint and ink.

What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
