For me, fresh vegetables have an aesthetic all of their own that is often underestimated. In this picture, I have staged a bunch of fresh broccoli stalks (also known as bimi or wild broccoli) as if you had just come home from the weekly market. Wrapped in plain white paper and held together by a rustic cord, the vegetables look like a precious gift from nature.
My inspiration was the beauty of the "raw". The lush, vibrant green of the fine florets contrasts wonderfully with the dark slate background. I love to play with light and shadow ("Dark Moody") to emphasise the freshness and crispness of the vegetables. You can literally hear the crunch when you bite into it.
This image radiates health, vitality and naturalness. It is not a sterile advertising photo, but an honest declaration of love for good ingredients. The atmosphere is down-to-earth and pure.
This work of art provides a fresh splash of colour in a kitchen. It is perfect for people who value healthy eating ("clean eating") or have a modern but cosy interior design style. The green has a calming and appetising effect at the same time - ideal for the space above the worktop or next to the dining table.
