About "Medieval narrow alley in Forza D'Agro in Sicily"

by Silva Wischeropp

About the artwork

This architectural photograph was taken in April 2017 with the Nikon D90. It shows a medieval, dilapidated Sicilian house façade in the mountain village of Forza d'Agro on the island of Sicily in southern Italy.

WALK THROUGH THE ALLEYS OF A MEDIEVAL VILLAGE.
Forza d'Agrò has less than 1,000 inhabitants, is situated at an altitude of 420 metres and overlooks the Mediterranean Sea. Because of the peculiarity and beauty of the place, it was chosen by Francis Ford Coppola to film some scenes of the Godfather.

Even the road leading up the hill of Forza d'Agrò offers you splendid views and takes you to the heart of this charming village. The medieval style of the village has been preserved over the centuries. In fact, walking into the countryside, especially towards the Norman castle that overlooks it, will be enough to immerse you in the past.
