The Cabo de Gata Natural Park in Almería province, Andalusia, is the ideal place to relax and enjoy some peace and quiet. The natural park is best known for its breathtaking landscapes, volcanic cliffs and picturesque villages and beaches to visit. In addition, the nature reserve is still relatively unknown to mass tourism, and because of the beautiful landscape there are still historical gems here and there, often in a state of disrepair. Like this old military watchtower on the wide beach of Playa de San Miguel. The Torreon de San Miguel is an old watchtower from which those in authority had a wide view over a large part of the bay on the Mediterranean Sea, and could see disaster and danger coming in time to anticipate it. The old stubby tower is still standing and, because of its massiveness, radiates strength and resistance, but the ravages of time, weather influences from the sea, perhaps the influence of the wanton local youth, have taken quite a toll and it is doubtful how long this sturdy building will remain standing.
