A black and white photograph of an extraordinary piece of modern industrial architecture. A puzzle of increasingly straight surfaces, but the whole forms organic lines. Striking is the play with scale between the metal "bricks" and the windows, where the windows in the windows again seek the size of the metal bricks.
It is part of a tower, but zoomed in on a part you can only see the ingenuity in the composition.
What cannot be seen from the outside, but what makes this design all the more clever, is that on the inside of the tower there are just good usable spacious floors. This seems impossible when you see the staggered windows.
The concept of organic curves in a metal wall finish is somewhat reminiscent of the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, and again this is an art museum, but the style is clearly different from the Guggenheim and this architecture is absolutely original.
I searched for a way to properly capture the effect of light falling on the different staggered metal parts of this organic tower, but to limit this for the windows, so that they provide a stable unity in the composition.
By rendering the photograph in black and white, it becomes more graphic, drawing attention to the lines that define the very composition of this extraordinary architectural building.
