The photographic nature motif was exposed on 28 October 2024 in the early morning hours with the NIKON D800 camera (lens: NIKKOR 24.0-70.0 mm f/2.8).
Turning from my hotel into the next side street, I discovered the morning flock of birds in front of the smoking volcano Etna. This natural backdrop is simply the perfect start to a wonderful day's holiday with this fairytale, rural idyll.
Giardini Naxos is a coastal town and a popular tourist destination on the east coast of Sicily, known for its beautiful beaches, Mediterranean flair and rich Greek history. It is located in a bay, directly below the famous town of Taormina.
The city is located in the province of Messina in Sicily, Italy, on the Ionian Riviera.
Originally, Giardini Naxos was a small fishing village. More importantly, it was the first Greek colony in Sicily, founded in 734 BC. Today, visitors can explore Greek ruins and historical sites.
The coastline offers a mixture of pebble and sandy beaches, including both serviced beach clubs and free beach areas. The beaches are a major attraction for tourists.
The town has a lively seafront promenade with many cafés, bars and restaurants. It is considered more relaxed than the higher, more exclusive Taormina.
