About "Multifunctional organ: African proboscis"

About the artwork

This painting is part of my long series entitled ELEPHANTS. I am probably the only artist in the world who has depicted the elephant in many different techniques and styles. You can see several of them on Artmajeur.
? The elephant symbolises dignity, wisdom and intelligence. A power animal and very social. The beautiful elephant head was painted by me in black and white. This African elephant is painted on an abstract background, which gives the picture a certain dynamism. The richly detailed elephant head shows the skin structure very well, which can be clearly seen on the ear, as well as on the trunk. The elephant's trunk is a multifunctional organ that is used for many activities: smelling, eating, drinking, greeting, touching, splashing water, carrying things, etc. Elephants love water, they drink a lot and bathe in it. Unfortunately, elephants in the wild are threatened with extinction, mainly due to poaching and habitat destruction by humans, climate change and other threats! The greed for ivory continues unabated, especially on the Asian market. There are only around 400,000 specimens left in Africa, which is alarming. When you buy one of my pictures, I donate to elephant conservation projects.
