About "Murlough Bay: An Undiscovered Pearl of Natural Beauty"

About the artwork

Discover the serene and unspoilt beauty of Murlough Bay, one of the most breathtaking and lesser-known gems on Northern Ireland's north coast. Located in County Antrim, between Ballycastle and Fair Head, Murlough Bay offers a picturesque landscape of rolling green hills, dramatic cliffs and a tranquil, secluded coastline. This beautiful location is a paradise for nature lovers, walkers and photographers who want to experience the tranquillity and unspoilt nature.

Murlough Bay is known for its pristine landscapes and spectacular views. From the top of the cliffs, visitors can enjoy panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean and, on clear days, even see the Scottish coast. The rolling hills and lush meadows descending to the sea create an idyllic scene that is both soothing and inspiring.

The area is steeped in history and folklore. Murlough Bay was a favourite haunt of Sir Roger Casement, an Irish nationalist, and his memory lives on here. Moreover, the natural beauty of the bay has made it a popular film location, including for the famous television series "Game of Thrones", in which it was used as the Iron Islands.

For photographers, Murlough Bay offers a wealth of visual opportunities. The contrasts between the emerald green grass, rugged cliffs and deep blue sea make for breathtaking compositions. Every season and time of day offers a new perspective, from the soft colours of a sunrise to the dramatic shadows of evening.
