This photo is part of the "Mythical Landscape" series. All photos in the series have their own theme. This one "On the way home" is among my favourites. I once read a quote by Novalis: "Where are we going? Always home..." This photo was inspired by this quote. The man on the bridge arrived on this island (bottom left of the photo) in a small rowing boat.
He is on his way from the known (present) to the unknown (future), alone. His destination is unknown, shrouded in fog, uncertain. But he is confident, that it will be all right, that he will go "home". So the photo symbolises the way of the individual, at the end of his life on his way to an unknown dimension.
