The nuthatch is very often pictured in its typical pose of crawling up a tree or descending along a tree. That's why I like the fact that I was able to capture this nuthatch horizontally for once. That it also has food in its beak is a nice bonus.
The colours and landmarks, such as the black eye stripe, make it a very pretty bird that is quickly recognisable. The photo was taken from a viewing cabin and with a 100-400 mm telephoto lens on a Canon R. A colourful image that provides a resting point in the environment where it hangs out.
