The Dettifoss is the most powerful waterfall in Western Europe, situated in the Jökulsá á Fjöllum river in the Jökulsárgljúfur area in North-East Iceland.
The Dettifoss is a very impressive waterfall with a width of 100 meters and a height of 44 meters.
The displacement is on average 200m³ water per second, but under extreme circumstances this can be 2 to 2.5 times as much.
The Jökulsá á Fjöllum river carries around 5 million tons of clay annually to the sea.
