The hyacinth macaw, blue macaw or South American macaw (Anodorhynchus hyacinthinus) is a parrot of the genus of the blue macaw (Anodorhynchus). The hyacinth macaw is the largest flying parrot species with a length of 90 to 100 centimeters and a weight of about one and a half kilograms. They have a deep cobalt blue color, with yellow rings around their eyes and lower bill. They predominantly eat seeds and various fruits and are mainly found in the rainforests of Paraguay, Bolivia and Brazil.
