Houseplants are popular in interiors where people want to bring nature into their homes. Plants bring peace and balance to the room and create a relaxed and restful atmosphere in the home. An example of a particularly beautiful houseplant is the speckled plant, also known as speckled begonia (Begonia maculata). The green leaves of this plant have a nice elongated shape. These green leaves are dotted at the top with lots of silver-white dots in different sizes, but also take a look at the underside of these beautiful leaves! The undersides of leaves are often overlooked but are also sometimes very special. In this dotted plant, the underside of the leaves is coloured orange-red with an accent on the red veins of the leaf. I lit the warmly coloured underside of such a leaf with a warm coloured lamp to make the orange-red tones stand out even more. The special thing about this exposure is that you can really see that the leaf is translucent: the light falls through the leaf in beautiful balls of light (bokeh) in all shades of the rainbow. The pattern of dots is also still visible. A beautiful nature photo with a special pattern of lines and dots. And a nice combination of light and dark and between colour and black and white. A warm and atmospheric piece of tranquillity for your wall!
I see making art as a creative process.
The starting point of this process for me is always a photo or a painting of my own. Every work of art on this site is therefore based on a self-made photo or painting.
I find my sources of inspiration in everything around me...
