From the air, you will discover patterns that probably few others have ever seen. The Algarve's west coast is full of such hidden sights. Few boat trips turn the corner at Sagres, as most 'action' takes place around Lagos.
Here you can see the more than 100-metre-high cliffs at Praia do Castelejo, a popular surfing beach in the western Algarve. From Lagos, it's about half an hour's drive and I think it's worth every minute.
You encounter very few other visitors here, especially after the months of June, June and August. Moreover, the low season is an excellent season for photographers to take pictures, thanks to the low-hanging sun, big waves and sea fog.
If you look very closely, you can see me standing on top of the cliff. That gives a good indication of how big these cliffs really are.
